What makes you most proud of our auditors, and how are we helping them build the skills needed for the future?

I am most proud of our auditors' dedication to professional skepticism and their ability to approach every engagement with a questioning and inquisitive mindset. We continuously invest in developing these critical skills while also equipping our teams to leverage emerging technologies and data-driven tools, enabling them to work more efficiently and deliver greater value to clients.

Integrity is at the heart of everything auditors do. What unique role do they play in creating confidence for businesses, investors, and society?

Stakeholders rely on audit opinions to make significant business and investment decisions, and we do not take that responsibility lightly. Integrity underpins every aspect of our work and is essential to maintaining trust and confidence in financial reporting. We ensure our professionals uphold the highest ethical standards by providing ongoing training on independence requirements, conflict-of-interest identification, and the appropriate measures needed to mitigate any threats to objectivity.

How is innovation changing the way we audit, and why will human insight remain just as important as technology?

Innovation is transforming the audit profession at a rapid pace. Technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and robotic process automation (RPA) are enabling auditors to analyse larger volumes of data, identify anomalies more effectively, and focus on higher-value activities. However, these technologies are enablers rather than substitutes for professional judgement. Human insight remains critical in interpreting results, understanding business context, evaluating risks, and recognising local market nuances that technology alone cannot fully capture. By combining advanced technology with professional expertise, we can deliver more effective and impactful audits.
